One thing I know is that both Nixon and Reagan would have agreed with Obama's speech against the Iraq War… But all the organs of the conservative movement followed Bush over the cliff—as did John McCain.
Just when McCain thought he turned the page on his campaign his guilt by association gotcha game comes back to bite him in the arse. The guy just can't catch a break - maybe he would be better off running during a time when information wasn't so easy to research - say 1860?
The information contained a few interesting revelations in what was, otherwise, a fairly mundane filing.
Then Japanese politicians, acting with the same sublime ineptitude that our own House of Representatives displayed this week, ignored a growing banking crisis and dithered on a bailout. And so I watched from Tokyo as a mighty economy melted like an iceberg in the Caribbean.
I'll say this upfront: I hope the titans of finance who expect us little people to save them are ashamed of themselves. But at the same time, in painting Main Street solely as a victim of a rapacious Wall Street, we are being hypocritical. We are all to blame.
While I don't necessarily agree with the standard used for determining a vote for a tax increase - it is interesting that a little stunt by the McCain campaign yet again came back to make them look worse.
Looks like Senator McCain's stance on No Taxes and a simpler tax code could get more expensive. Nothing like taxing employee benefits to fix the health care system.
SHe was a mayor and governor idiot. You do your research. SHe has been a governor for twice the amount of time Obama has been a senator ( and not shown up for work). I know my boss would love it if he hired me to do a job and I immediately began campaigning for another while on his tab. That is what Obama has done. He starts campaigning for Prez 10 months after being in the Senate. Puhleasse! So much experience. He never takes a real stand in fear of offending anyone. He just usually happy valley generalities. Don't promise me anything. Show me what you ahve done. I have learned to never rely on promises.
